In France, health and safety at work has been in force since 1993, and provides, among other things, that each employer must take all practical and necessary measures to ensure the safety of its employees and protect their health.
Thus, every employer has a duty to implement measures to prevent occupational risks and arduousness at work, information and training, but also to set up adapted organization and resources.
And to be valid, any strategy to prevent and avoid risks specific to the working environment must be documented at all levels of the company, in the clearest and most effective way possible.
French-speaking employees abroad, foreign subsidiaries established in French-speaking countries: in the current context of globalisation, translating into French the various information and training materials on occupational health and safety for French-speaking employees appears to be essential.
I am familiar with this field because I have had the opportunity to work in various positions in the logistics sector, a sector in which the issue of health and safety at work is omnipresent. My experience working alongside technical translation professionals then allowed me to transfer my skills in this field to my role as a translator.
